Position Description:
Reporting to the Early Childhood Program Director, the Aspen Center Director is responsible for the overall operations and administration of the Aspen Center for Child Development, including facilitating, planning and coordinating all programs and activities, establishing and maintaining a safe, welcoming and nurturing childcare environment. The Aspen Center Director ensures that the school meets high standards of quality and excellence.
Essential Duties:
1. Ensures Center compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and safety procedures.
· Ensures staff ratios are met.
· Ensures building compliance with various entities’ regulations, as well as building safety and maintenance.
· Oversees and monitors consistent implementation of Teaching Strategies Gold (TSG). Processes and tracks all Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP) and Colorado’s Universal Pre-K Program (UPK) enrollment and billing.
· Collaborates with Food Services Director, Aspen Center Assistant Director and Infant Nursery Supervisor in monitoring food and fluid intake and reviewing menus.
2. Develops and nurtures relationships with families of potentially enrolled and enrolled children, teachers, and the community at large.
· Ensures families have access to all necessary and desired information from leadership and instructors, with a commitment to clear communication. Designs and delivers resources for parent orientation, involvement and education.
· Supervises Aspen Center staff. Supports team members in realizing professional and organizational goals, identifying and providing opportunities for development.
3. Exercises financial acuity.
· Responsible for managing billing processes for CCCAP and private pay.
· Closely monitors expenditures, reporting variances.
4. Represents OUR Center in the community.
· Attends and participates in various outreach and public relations activities.
· Participates in professional organizations, trainings, and conferences regarding Early Childhood Education (ECE).
Other Duties:
1. Ensures student and employee files are complete and up to date.
2. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Training:
· Bachelor’s degree in ECE, Child Development, or related field.
· Colorado State Large Center Director Qualified.
· PDIS Credential Level III or above.
Experience:
- Minimum three years’ classroom experience required.
- Minimum three years’ experience as Director in a licensed child care facility preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ experience using Microsoft Office.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Extensive knowledge of rules and regulations applicable to Colorado child care centers.
· Extensive knowledge of child development and early childhood milestones
· Strong leadership skills, including building, forming and motivating teams.
. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to work in a fast paced environment, with frequent interruptions.
· Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
· CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration and Universal Precautions certifications.
· Valid Colorado driver’s license, and ability to meet OUR Center’s driving standards.
· Ability to work outside of regular office hours in order to meet organizational needs and commitments in the community.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
· Work is primarily performed in a typical office setting. Work may also be performed in a community setting.
· Prolonged periods of using a computer.
· Occasional lifting and carrying of approximately 30 lbs.
